The Te Araroa Trail is a trail that goes from the North to the South of New Zealand – 3000km of beautiful scenery through mountains, beaches and rivers. Brooke Thomas, a nurse from Queenstown in New Zealand, and very keen runner set the female’s fastest known time (FKT) in only 57 days. She ran on average over 50km per day.
She raised 27k NZ$ for Heart Kids, a charity that helps kids with heart related issues – herself she has a pacemaker and her story is about pushing boundaries, being positive, and showing incredible resilience. Inspirational !
